Irene van Luin was born in the center of Utrecht and grew up as a child living in poverty. She experienced a life of hardship without a feeling of acceptance or a sense of belonging.
Later in life after leaving home, she spent several years as a homeless person.
Ultimately, she became an official social worker for six years, working with refugees.
These days, she is singing in a choir, performing in theater productions, and attempting to write a short musical. She is still committed to helping people whenever and wherever she can.
Irene is connected with an organization that is fighting to improve the lives and wellbeing of poor people.
